Where has this year disappeared to ? – we’re well into the second quarter! Easter has come and gone with it’s wonderful promise of salvation and we’re rapidly free falling towards Flights 34 and 35.

For our family we have shared the unprecedented experience of a family wedding – our oldest son married a wonderful girl from Plett. In March we made our way down to Plett to share their wedding, which was held on the beach at Nature’s Valley, followed by a reception in the home garden. God smiled on us on the day and from being appalling weather the day before, during which 86mm of rain lashed down on us resulting in the marquee being awash, we experienced the most gorgeous late afternoon followed by an amazing black velvet night sky studded with millions of stars. The reception was such fun with the bridal party looking gorgeous and the fairy lights and candles turning the tent into a flickering fairyland. The speeches were short but so sincere and the odd tear had to be surreptitiously wiped away – however what would a wedding be without tears ?!!

While I have to admit to indulging myself by regaling you all with this little story it does have relevance to Chrysalis. Both Amy and Robert were caterpillars on Flights 32 and 33 and joined our Chrysalis family in 2011. Through their wedding our families connected and increased in size by many members. Now it is the time of the year again for new caterpillars to register for Chrysalis Flights 34 and 35 and in so doing enlarge our Chrysalis family.

As anyone who is fortunate enough to have a loving family and friends knows, they are truly a blessing. They are there to support you and love you through good times and bad - to laugh with you and cry with you and generally live life with you.

With God as our loving Father overseeing the whole Chrysalis family, how can we not grow in love for our fellow man?

If you know of any friends or family between the ages of 15 and 25, who might want to experience a Chrysalis weekend, please seriously consider becoming their spiritual sponsors. Pray about it, speak to them about it, pray some more about it, speak to their parents and ministers about it and pray some more about it. It is the opportunity of a life time and can change their lives forever. The experience holds one guarantee and that is that God will touch their lives at some point during the weekend.

Registration is open for our Flights from the 6^th – 8^th July being held at The Wykeham Collegiate in Pietermaritzburg. Our team formation is over half way completed and we’ve had our first caterpillars submit their names for registration and are now able to start covering them all in prayer – what a privilege that is.
